Gloria Navarro Buckingham is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. Gloria is a member of the California and Hawaii State Bars. Upon moving to Maui from Southern California, Gloria worked as law clerk for Second Circuit Court Judge Artemio C. Baxa and for Second Circuit Court Judge Joseph Cardoza. After her clerkships, Gloria spent her professional career building her own law practice.
Gloria has dedicated her practice to the areas of estate planning, trust administration, and probate. The firm handles clients from both the Mainland and Hawaii, with multi-jurisdictional interests, both real property and proprietary. Gloria’s ability to provide highly individualized attention gives each and every client a feeling of ease and confidence as they tackle the daunting task of creating or updating an estate plan. Gloria has seen clients pass away and learned quickly that the plans drafted by her office work well for her clients and their loved ones.
Gloria includes business formation and business law in the realm of her practice, so that each client can be assured that their entire estate is in order for their lifetime and into the future. The practice has assisted Maui clients to administer estates settled in California or Mainland clients who have lost loved ones with interests, both business and real property, in Hawaii. An active member of the community of Maui, Gloria volunteers and provides pro bono services for Volunteer Legal Services of Hawaii, the Maui Farm, Carden Academy of Maui and the Maui Arts and Cultural Center.
Gloria was raised in a household with seven (7) siblings in Pasadena, California. Her childhood and adolescence were a great training ground for learning to get along with various personalities and to understand varying family dynamics. Family dynamics can become tricky quickly when stress or sudden sadness occurs. Gloria’s personal qualities have served her well in the practice of estate planning and business law.
